In a strategic move, Senate Majority Leader Erin Murphy, representing the DFL party of St. Paul, has unveiled the leadership lineup for the Minnesota Senate DFL caucus for the upcoming 2025-2026 term. Assistant Leaders who are set to continue under her guidance include Liz Boldon of Rochester, Nick Frentz from North Mankato, Foung Hawj from St. Paul, Mary Kunesh out of New Brighton, and Clare Oumou Verbeten also from St. Paul, as confirmed in a recent announcement.
The DFL team is looking to firmly anchor itself in the Minnesota political landscape with a couple of new names actively joining the ranks. Senators Grant Hauschild from Hermantown and Bonnie Westlin of Plymouth were newly elected by the caucus to assist the Majority Leader in shaping the legislative future. "Each of these leaders understands that Minnesotans put us in the majority to do the hard work of solving problems and improving their lives," Murphy said, as stated by the Minnesota Senate DFL.
The leadership team, diversified with both experienced and fresh faces, is preparing to hastily dive into the legislative session come January. "Like me they are committed to working together to find solutions that center on Minnesotans, their families and their communities. With this strong leadership team, we are ready to get to work when the new legislative session starts in January," Majority Leader Murphy emphasized, as per the Minnesota Senate DFL.
