The Atlantic Beach Police Department had launched an appeal for public assistance after Sermons was last seen leaving his residence on Beach Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. on Friday. According to First Coast News, Sermons is described as standing 6 feet tall and weighing 185 pounds, with white hair.
The police department detailed that Sermons might be wearing a Jaguars shirt and hat, accompanied by black pants, and may have been traveling in a black 4-door Nissan Frontier pickup truck with Virginia tag WSK9670. By disseminating this information, authorities hoped to hasten Mr. Sermons's return to the safety and comfort of his home.
