
Missouri's Governor Mike Parson has filled several positions across state boards and commissions, appointing 16 professionals to different roles that range from the State Rehabilitation Council to the Child Abuse Neglect and Review Board. The Governor's office released the names and backgrounds of these appointees, highlighting a mix of expertise from various fields such as education, mental health, law enforcement, and more.
Among the appointees, Ansur Adams has been selected to join the State Rehabilitation Council. Adams brings experience as a clinical supervisor and draws from his background in psychology and clinical mental health counseling. Similarly, January Boyer, who holds both BSW and MSW degrees, comes on board with a history of service in the Missouri Department of Mental Health and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. Their appointments appear part of a broadened commitment to rehabilitation services within the state.
Other appointees include Dr. Chris Clause from the Vocational Rehabilitation program and Robert “Bob” Hosutt, a business owner with extensive experience in counseling psychology. Daniel Cayou, an attorney with a history of advocating for the protection and advocacy of Missouri residents, was also named to the Council. Claire Helmig brings a practical healthcare perspective as a medication aide, while Tim Tadlock's business insights from his insurance career will also now figure into the council's deliberations.
The State Board of Psychologists will see new expertise as well, with Jennifer Keller stepping in as an appointee. Serving as both a section chief and a senior director in behavioral health, Keller is licensed in multiple states and has a strong connection with professional psychological associations. For the Coroner Standards and Training Commission, Scott Lindsey, with past service in law enforcement and an unbroken POST license since 1997, has been confirmed after a stints as sheriff and chief of police.
Higher education governance also saw changes with Dr. Maureen Clancy-May joining the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Governors. Clancy-May's background in school district supervision and state education department leadership is geared to inform her contributions to the board. Paul Ogier will apply his finance expertise to the Health and Educational Facilities Authority of the State of Missouri as an appointment reflecting the state's focus on facility management and financial oversight within the health and education sectors.
On the legal and social front, Jill Patterson will bring her legal acumen to the Child Abuse Neglect and Review Board. Her career traverses development, prosecution, and now legal services, reflecting a commitment to justice and social welfare. Similarly, Dr. Josh Stilley, an associate professor of emergency medicine, will now chair the State Advisory Council on Emergency Medical Services, presumably leveraging his medical and leadership skills to further the council's objectives.
Susan Roemer's appointment to the State Rehabilitation Council adds another layer of expertise with her experience in independent living resource management and her work with Missouri Centers for Independent Living. As a certified workforce development professional, Roemer's perspective on vocational rehabilitation could prove vital to the council's operation.
