The trouble began just before midnight when officers were called to the 7900 block of Otter Cove Court for a report of a person in distress. According to Montgomery County Police, upon arrival, Shannon confronted the officers and the situation escalated to violence. It's reported that the officers managed to subdue and arrest Shannon without backup.

One officer was seriously injured during the fracas and had to be taken to a local hospital. The officer is expected to make a full recovery. Details regarding the second officer's condition were not disclosed.

Before being booked, Shannon was checked by Montgomery County Fire Rescue and then taken to a hospital. Once he was medically cleared, law enforcement transported him to the Central Processing Unit. Shannon is being held without bond and faces multiple charges, including second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, and intoxicated endangerment.
