In Morgan Hill, a routine response to an auto burglary spiraled into a high-speed chase and elaborate manhunt, ending with the arrest of one individual and the seizure of a ghost gun. The Morgan Hill Police Department detailed the incident, which began near Depot Street and Third Street, where a confrontation ensued between a victim and the suspects of an auto burglary. Brandishing handguns, the suspects fled in their vehicles.

Despite an immediate police attempt to stop the two vehicles, which led to a chase further complicated by heavy commuter traffic on U.S. Highway 101, safety concerns led to the termination of the pursuit. However, the vehicles were later found abandoned within the community. An intense search operation unfolded, including K-9 units, drones, and helicopter assistance from multiple agencies.
