
The Metropolitan Police Department has arrested three juveniles in connection with an armed carjacking in Northwest D.C. on November 18, around 8:16 p.m. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Rhode Island Avenue NW after the victim reported that the suspects approached her as she was heading to her car. One displayed a gun, demanded her keys, and drove off in her car after she handed them over. The car was later recovered, but no details about its condition or location were given, accoridng to the Metropolitan Police Department.
The Metropolitan Police Department's investigation led to the arrests on Wednesday of a 15-year-old male from Northeast D.C., and two others from Southeast D.C.—a 14-year-old and a 17-year-old. All three were charged with Armed Carjacking (Gun). The 17-year-old was also charged with Unarmed Carjacking for a separate incident on October 2, in the 700 block of Harvard Street NW.
The Metropolitan Police Department is offering up to $10,000 for tips leading to an arrest in recent carjackings. They urge people to call (202) 727-9099 or text 50411 with information. The investigation is still ongoing, and it's unclear what motivated the carjackings or what will happen to the suspects.
