The New Orleans Fire Department (NOFD) faced a blaze in the early hours today at a commercial building on Earhart Blvd. Reports of the fire, which broke out in a single-story retail space known as The Hidden Vault, were received at approximately 2:08 a.m., according to a release on the City of New Orleans website.
The first responders arrived on scene within five minutes of the emergency call. Officials soon after declared a second alarm at 2:12 a.m. due to the severity of the situation. The quick action by NOFD firefighters prevented the flames from spreading significantly beyond the initial store, although adjacent businesses suffered from some smoke and water damage.
