In an update to an ongoing murder case, the New Orleans Police Department has made a secondary arrest connected to the double homicide that happened last month. As reported by New Orleans Police Department News, detectives have arrested Ashley Gray on charges related to the incident which occurred at the intersection of Almonaster and Florida avenues on November 17.
Gray, identified as the mother of a previously arrested suspect, Curtis J. Gray, was apprehended at approximately 12:20 p.m. at her River Ridge residence. According to the New Orleans Police Department, on Sunday, an arrest warrant was secured for Gray for one count of accessory after the fact to second-degree murder. Curtis J. Gray had already been taken into custody on Friday, facing two counts of second-degree murder linked to the same investigation.
The arrest was a joint effort, involving members of the Louisiana State Police’s Bureau of Investigation along with the New Orleans Police Department's Violent Crime Abatement Investigation Team. Upon arrest, Ashley Gray was set to be taken to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center to be booked as a fugitive. She will remain there pending extradition to Orleans Parish where she will face charges related to the homicide case.
