Residents of Northwest D.C. experienced a jolt of tension this week following an attempted armed robbery, but prompt law enforcement action has settled some nerves. The Metropolitan Police Department has reported an arrest linked to the crime which occurred on the evening of yesterday.
With a gun in hand, the suspect thrust himself into the victim's path near the 1400 block of Oak Street at around 9:26 p.m., demanding property. Defiance was the victim's response; the property remained secure as the suspect beat a hasty retreat empty-handed, according to MPD's announcement.
In the aftermath, MPD officers, tracing the faded footprints of chaos, located the alleged perpetrator. Thirty-two-year-old Fanuel Soloman, whose residence is claimed by the same Northwest D.C. quadrant, was arrested and charged with Attempt to Commit Robbery While Armed, as the city's heartbeat continued, unfaltered yet vigilant.
The details on this arrest emerged briskly, matching the incident's swift but disruptive dance. Less than 24 hours following the attempted robbery, MPD presented their case to the public, attaching a name and face to the shadow of the evening's fear. The criminal charge has been assigned to Soloman, enshrined in the city's ledger of justice, under the case number CCN# 24195399.
