
Residents of a multi-story residential building on High Street in Oakland had a fire scare in the early hours of today. According to a social media post from the Oakland Fire Department, firefighters responded to a fire at the 4-story building in the 2800 block of High Street. The incident began at 12:04 am and was primarily a room and content fire within a single unit.
Fire is Under Control at 12:24am ~~ no extension to any other units in building. Original call came in at 12:04am. PGE is en route. No reports of injuries. The quick response by the Oakland Fire Department helped to successfully contain the blaze to the original unit, preventing it from spreading to neighboring units. "Crews checking for fire extensions to other building units," the Oakland Fire Department reported just 15 minutes into the incident.
No injuries were reported as the emergency teams tackled the fire.
