Residents and tourists in Central Florida feel the chill as Orlando's water parks have announced closures due to the region being swept by the coldest air of the season. As reported by ClickOrlando, notable parks, including Aquatica, Blizzard Beach, and Volcano Bay, have temporarily shut down in response to the icy forecast, opting for safety as frigid temperatures make the water less than appealing.
Aquatica has planned a brief hiatus, closing on Monday but slated to reopen on Tuesday, presumably betting on a quick turnaround in the weather. Blizzard Beach is tucking in for a bit longer, with plans to remain closed Monday and Tuesday, as the cold snap is expected to linger into the next few days. But Volcano Bay seems to be taking no chances, shutting its gates from Monday through Thursday, according to FOX 35 Orlando report.
The disappointment must be put on ice for guests looking forward to splashing around at Universal Orlando's Volcano Bay, as the park confirmed the closures on its website and social media. Concerned ticket holders are directed to Universal Orlando Resort at (407) 817-8317 or to check updates on their website for information regarding a potential rescheduling or refund.
