On January 11, 2025, the Canyon Branch Library is scheduled to throw open its doors, according to information provided by the Palm Beach County Library System. Years in planning, this addition to the library system represents a new chapter for community access and resources.
Standing proudly in front of the Canyon Branch Library is the "Opening Minds" art installation, created by artist Brad J. Goldberg. Comprising six marble columns, the artwork features quotes from influential texts and binary code, symbolizing the connection between traditional knowledge and the digital age, as per the county's official website.
Inside, the Canyon Branch Library sports an open layout, home to some 130,000 items including books, digital media, and more. Visitors can look forward to a vast atrium, specialized zones for children and teens, and the largest meeting room of any branch in the library system. The library is situated in Canyon, a burgeoning neighborhood in western Boynton.
“We are excited to welcome residents to the new Canyon Branch. It will offer a wealth of resources, programs and services designed to meet the diverse needs of our community,” Library Director Douglas Crane shared, according to an official press statement. The new library promises a wide range of resources, programs, and services designed to meet the diverse needs of the community. Updates and glimpses into the new branch can be followed on the Palm Beach County Library System's social media channels, @pbclibrary, available across all major platforms for those who imagine experiencing it from the comfort of their screen.
