As 2025 draws near, the Valley's restaurant landscape is poised for an infusion of new flavors and dining experiences, with a diverse array of culinary ventures slated to open their doors. Eager diners in Phoenix and surrounding areas have much to look forward to, from upscale steakhouses to novel concepts embracing everything from wood fire cooking to Japanese-Spanish fusion.
Among the forthcoming eateries, Pretty Decent Concepts plans to make a splash with four new restaurants, including the steakhouse Cleaverman, the martini bar Filthy, the wood fire-based Filthy Animal, and the '70s-inspired Drop Dead Gorgeous, as reported by the Phoenix Business Journal. The group, which already has a track record with Wren & Wolf and Chico Malo, is working with Scottsdale-based Peter Bowden to create these distinctive spaces, with an investment that doesn’t seem to compromise on quality or style.
Adding to the excitement, Fox Restaurant Concepts is tearing down the old to usher in the new, replacing a former Applebee's with a new location for The Henry, with its doors anticipated to open early in the year, "Fox Restaurant Concepts will also be opening Flower Child, Blanco Taco Cocina + Cantina and North Italia in Tempe's Novus Place in early 2025" according to the Phoenix Business Journal. On the other hand, their regional chain Federal Pizza is set to kindle the wood-fire ovens in the revamped Paradise Valley Mall area, promising a cozy spot for pizzas, pastas, and craft beers.
Scottsdale Fashion Square is gearing up to become a veritable dining destination itself, with high-profile openings including Catch, Din Tai Fung, and Telefèric Barcelona, the high-end seafood chain known for its blend of seamlessly integrated cuisine that combines seafood, sushi, and steak, Catch will cut the ribbon on its 12,000-square-foot Scottsdale space amidst the mall's multimillion-dollar renovations. The West Valley isn't being left behind either: "Expect hearty egg dishes including brisket and corn bread hash, a great Spanish frittata and a fiery Mexicana scramble" at Hash Kitchen, one of the many restaurants featured in a comprehensive Phoenix Magazine guide to the West Valley's dining options.
Less traditional but equally anticipated offerings include Formation Brewing, a Colorado-based company bringing their brews to downtown Phoenix; George & Gather's all-day dining and market in a revamp of a downtown Chandler auto shop; and Indibar, which is redefining Indian cuisine in the former Rancho Pinot location, in addition to Tiki Taka, a Japanese and Spanish tapas bar setting up in Scottsdale. Meanwhile, much like Pretty Decent Concepts's ventures, 151 Hospitality is not shying away from transforming familiar spaces into something new, as they morph the former MercBar location into a high-end Mexican restaurant called Camello, complete with dance floor and live music, showcasing the talent of executive chef Fidencio Alatriste,"151 Hospitality will be opening two other concepts at 24th Street and Camelback in early 2025," shared the Phoenix Business Journal.
