After an 11-year hiatus that had fans wondering if they'd ever hear the brassy melodies again, the Bad Cactus Brass Band has made a triumphant return to the music scene. According to Phoenix New Times, the band celebrated their return with the launch of a new album, "Back for Another Round."

The release was commemorated with a performance on November 22 at the Valley Bar in downtown Phoenix, drawing in local bands Hyperbella and Prime Society to round out a night of live music revival.

This isn't a story about a band simply deciding to quickly pick up where they left off. It's about a band that needed to slowly come back to find their space in a city that continued to celebrate their unique sound, despite their absence. “Our thing was being the New Orleans band of Phoenix, the brass band of Phoenix,” founder Benjie Messer mentioned in a statement obtained by AZCentral.

The ambitious Messer, having previously sold the bass drum and handed down their gigs to another band, found inspiration again as fans continued to recognize and reminisce about Bad Cactus Brass Band after his shows with other local acts, AZCentral noted.
