The Phoenix Zoo is once again hosting ZooLights, its annual holiday display that has been a tradition for over 30 years. As reported by AZCentral, this year's event features more than four million lights, hundreds of glimmering armatures, new wildlife-shaped lanterns, and the tallest digital floating tree in North America, a returning highlight.
Open from 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. each evening starting last Wednesday through January 12, the event invites families and friends to enjoy attractions like the Lake Lights Show, featuring a 50-foot LED tree synced to music, the Glow Garden with its illuminated dance floor, and photo opportunities with Santa. Additionally, as reported by ABC15, the event includes community performances and animal presentations on select nights.
While the event is mainly a walking experience, there is also a drive-thru option, Cruise ZooLights, available on select dates. The drive-thru experience is priced at $135 for members and offers a chance to view the light displays from the car. Tickets can be purchased on the Phoenix Zoo's official website, where there may be discounts available.
Additionally, in response to community needs, the Phoenix Zoo hosts Sensory Friendly ZooLights, designed for individuals with sensory sensitivities. This event features quieter music, along with adjustments to lighting to minimize flashing and movement. The event took place today, "due to limited tickets available for this evening experience, smaller crowds are expected," ABC15 reports.
Parking is not an issue at ZooLights, as there is ample free parking available. In addition to the light displays, visitors can enjoy activities such as a ride on the Endangered Species Carousel, roasting s'mores by the fire, or taking a camel ride, offering a range of experiences beyond the lights.
