Last week, a routine traffic stop turned into a chase. The driver, Tarrance Anderson, 20, of Pittsburg, decided to flee from the authorities after being pulled over for a vehicular violation near Lone Tree Way and Slatten Ranch Road. According to the City of Brentwood Police Department's social media post, Anderson was driving without a license and on probation for theft out of Contra Costa County.
The police pursuit ended shortly when Anderson crashed the vehicle and took off on foot. He then settled momentarily on a stranger's front porch, where a resident's call brought the police to his location. Anderson complied with the arriving officers without further incident. The City of Brentwood Police Department stated that a loaded firearm was found discarded along his attempted escape route.
Anderson is now facing several charges, including having a loaded firearm as a convicted individual, probation violation, hit and run, evading police, and several other related offenses.
