
A popular Mediterranean dining spot in downtown Boston fell victim to an armed robbery at the close of its Sunday night service. According to NBC Boston, Cava, located at 125 Summer St., was targeted by a gunman just after 10:30 p.m.
The Boston Police Department responded to the scene after a report of the incident and encountered a restaurant employee who recounted being robbed at gunpoint during the evening's closure. The suspect is reported to have escaped with an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot. This act to quickly flee the scene follows a disturbing trend of recent robberies in the area.
No arrests have as yet been made in connection with the crime. The investigation is actively ongoing as the BPD seeks to bring the perpetrator to justice. Cava, known for its chain of Mediterranean eateries, is a familiar and cherished establishment with multiple locations throughout Boston and beyond.
WHDH added that the suspect had taken an unknown amount of money from the restaurant. The police have not yet to release additional details about the suspect or potential witnesses. The BPD is actively asking for the public's assistance in gathering information that could lead to an arrest.
