A troubling incident unfolded at a local park in Price, where a man has been accused of attempting to run over children. According to KUTV, the Carbon County man was arrested on several counts of attempted murder after witnesses claimed he drove through the park, seemingly targeting multiple children.
Earlier on Dec. 5, before the park incident, police were dispatched to a McDonald's on the 400 block of East Main Street in response to a threatening situation. A man, later identified as Holden, reportedly brandished a knife and threatened another male, the latter who then called the authorities, as detailed by ABC4. The caller also mentioned that Holden was bleeding from his cheek.
The situation escalated when Holden pursued one of the teenagers to the parking lot of the aforementioned McDonald's, an event that culminated in the police encounter. When officers arrived, they found Holden with a facial injury, incurred when he was hit by a rock, KSL reported. It was during his arrest that Holden allegedly made a chilling statement to the police.
In a disturbing revelation, as he was being taken into custody, Holden expressed that if released, he would "attempt to find a firearm and would become the next mass shooter," as obtained by KSL. This statement has undoubtedly added a grave layer of concern to an already harrowing sequence of events, involving potential harm to young individuals in a community space.
