Early this morning, residents of the 200 block of Lawrence Avenue in South San Francisco were jolted awake by the sound of gunfire. According to a social media post by the South San Francisco Police Department, their officers, along with personnel from the San Bruno Police Department, rushed to the scene following reports of a firearm being discharged into the air.
On arrival, law enforcement located an individual who matched the description provided by witnesses. The suspect was detained without any further disturbance. During the arrest, officers discovered a firearm concealed in the suspect's rear waistband. The weapon was later confirmed to be stolen.
The department thanked civilians for their active participation, "Thankfully, no one was hurt and no property damaged. We appreciate witnesses reporting this incident and providing dispatch with detailed information for responding officers."
