The Roswell Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate 49-year-old Roberto Dominguez Soto, accused of the murder of his girlfriend, 47-year-old Blanca Sauer. Her body was discovered on Christmas Eve in a ditch near Azalea Drive and Atlanta Street in Roswell by a passerby, as reported by FOX 5 Atlanta. Sauer, a Sandy Springs woman, had suffered from at least one gunshot wound.
Authorities have urged the public to consider Dominguez Soto as armed and dangerous. In a statement obtained by FOX 5 Atlanta, Roswell Police Chief James Conroy said, "We are committed to bringing justice to those affected by this senseless act of targeted violence." The suspect, additionally wanted by Interpol on firearms possession charges, is described as a Hispanic male, with black hair, brown eyes, 5-feet-11-inches tall, and weighing 170 pounds. Investigators are working alongside state, federal, and international authorities to find and apprehend him.
"This is a heartbreaking situation, especially during the holiday season, and our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Ms. Sauer," said Chief Conroy, according to a WSB-TV interview. Detectives have said that they do not believe that Sauer was killed at the site where her body was found, although the location of the original crime scene has not been disclosed.
With Dominguez Soto still at large, law enforcement officials are actively seeking any information that could lead to his capture.
