The California Highway Patrol (CHP) - San Jose confirmed the apprehension of a suspect involved in the abduction of two young children—a 7-year-old and a 2-year-old. The suspect, who is also the mother of the children, had reportedly taken them from a residence in King City and had made threats concerning their safety.
According to a social media post by the CHP—San Jose, the Amber Alert was issued at approximately 5:40 PM yesterday. Soon after, at around 5:50 PM, authorities received calls with sightings of the vehicle on northbound SR-87 near Almaden Expressway. Traffic congestion from an unrelated accident enabled CHP officers on the scene to intercept and stop the suspect vehicle.
Officers arrested the suspect and secured the two children, who, fortunate in the chaos, were found unharmed. The suspect was transported and booked into the Santa Clara County jail. Post-arrest, the two juveniles were taken to the CHP San Jose Area office and were safely released to family members.
Details regarding the suspect's motives and the events leading up to the abduction remain scarce. However, the CHP - San Jose directed any inquiries to the King City Police Department should the public seek more information on the delicate matter.
