Tragedy struck San José yesterday morning when a fatal car accident claimed the life of an adult male driver. The San José Police Department reported that the collision occurred at approximately 9:52 AM at Snell Avenue and Truckee Lane.
The individual was behind the wheel of a white 1989 Ford Mustang driving southbound on Snell Avenue before the vehicle veered off the road and impacted a tree. Despite emergency response efforts, the driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. According to the San José Police Department's press release, this marks the 47th traffic death in what has been a devastating year for San José roadways.
As investigators piece together the circumstances of this latest incident, Detective Bowen of the Traffic Investigations Unit is spearheading the inquiry. There is currently no evidence suggesting the involvement of other vehicles or pedestrians in the incident.
The Santa Clara County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the deceased once proper notifications have been made.
