San Jose police made an unexpected discovery during a traffic stop on Sunday. An officer from the San Jose Police Department (SJPD) noticed a vehicle heading in the wrong direction on a one-way street and promptly pulled it over. What appeared to be a routine traffic stop soon escalated when a probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered an illegal arsenal.
According to the San Jose Police Department, officers found an unregistered loaded firearm with an extended magazine hiding underneath the driver's seat and a concealed dagger. Driving the wrong way down a one-way street, the driver was subsequently arrested and faced booking into Santa Clara County Main Jail on multiple charges.
The arrest comes as law enforcement continues their work to keep the streets safe during the holiday season, especially with Christmas approaching. The San Jose Police Department emphasized their commitment with a message ensuring efforts to "ensure everyone has a safe Christmas," reflecting heightened patrols by their Central Division Officers.
