Sea Turtle Inc. is hosting a special event on December 3 to release four Atlantic Green Sea Turtles back into the ocean at Cameron County Beach, South Padre Island. The turtles—Finch, Jetty, Roscoe, and Snaggy—have completed 160 days of rehabilitation after recovering from injury and illness, according to FOX San Antonio.
Founded in 1977, Sea Turtle Inc. has made a name for themselves as a leading defender of sea turtles worldwide, with efforts encompassing treatment of hundreds of sick and injured turtles every year and engaging the public in conservation education. "Release days are a powerful reminder of the profound impact of our work," Wendy Knight, Chief Executive Officer of Sea Turtle Inc., told FOX San Antonio. "The long hours and tireless effort become truly meaningful when we witness the incredible moment a sea turtle swims freely into the Gulf of Mexico."
The sea turtle release on Giving Tuesday lets people support marine life conservation. Sea Turtle Inc. helps protect sea turtles from threats like habitat loss, pollution, and climate change. Turtles like Finch, Jetty, Roscoe, and Snaggy are being released back into the wild. For more details, check News 4 San Antonio.
