Authorities are searching for an unidentified assailant following a shooting outside the Clarion Inn in Murfreesboro that critically injured two people. According to WSMV, the incident occurred shortly after 11 p.m. last night. The victims, a man and a woman, were found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle behind the hotel.
The Murfreesboro Police Department officers who arrived at the scene provided first aid until the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department and Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services took over. According to a Facebook post by the Murfreesboro TN Police Department, the victims were struck while in their vehicle, which then collided with a wall during an attempted getaway. They were later found near the front of the hotel, close to a KFC.
The victims were quickly transported to a local hospital, where their condition is described as critical. WKRN has confirmed the severity of their injuries; however, details about the suspect have not been released as the investigation remains active.
