
Seguin, Texas, will begin its holiday celebrations tomorrow. The Holiday Stroll Parade, starting at 6:30 p.m., will feature over 100 entries decorated with festive lights, traveling from Austin Street to the Seguin Coliseum and through Central Park. After the parade, Mayor Donna Dodgen will illuminate Central Park with holiday lights, marking the start of the season’s festivities, as reported by the city's official announcement.
As part of the holiday events, children and families will have the opportunity to take photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, while local community organizations participate in a Christmas Tree contest with their decorated trees. On Friday, KWED 1580 Radio Station, in collaboration with the Seguin Police Department, will host their annual Toy & Food Drive, collecting donations of toys, food, and money for those in need from 7 to 9 a.m., following the initial events.
The evening continues with the Cocoa Sip 'N Stroll from 6 to 9 p.m., where downtown Seguin will offer homemade hot chocolate, live entertainment, Santa photo opportunities, and late-night shopping to support local businesses. Earlier in the day, the Seguin High School Matador Band and Navarro Band will perform during the food and toy drive, contributing to the community's holiday activities.
The Holiday Stroll Jingle Bell Run will take place on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Participants, invited to wear holiday-themed attire, will help support the Downtown Business Alliance. "Prizes for top three holiday costumes!" as stated in the city's announcement. The day continues with the North Pole Stroll, featuring activities like cookie decorating and photos with Santa in Central Park. In the afternoon, children from preschool to 12 years old will participate in the Shoe Box Parade, creating miniature Christmas floats using shoe boxes.
