On Friday, the Senate Special Committee on the Protection of Women’s Sports, chaired by Sen. Greg Dolezal (R–Cumming), will hold its final hearing. The meeting will start at 8:30 a.m. in room 450 of the State Capitol, located at 206 Washington St SW, Atlanta, GA. The hearing will be open to the public and streamed live on the Senate’s official website for broader access, according to the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
The committee was created to address concerns about fairness in women’s sports at schools and universities. It looks at policies to ensure women have equal opportunities in athletics. The committee includes a bipartisan group of senators: Jason Anavitarte (R–Dallas), Clint Dixon (R–Gwinnett), Bo Hatchett (R–Cornelia), Billy Hickman (R–Statesboro), Sheikh Rahman (D–Lawrenceville), Freddie Powell Sims (D–Dawson), and Blake Tillery (R–Vidalia). They bring different views to the issue of supporting women’s sports, as reported by the Georgia State Senate Press Office.
