Rumors that Lure Fishbar might be replaced by a Prada-branded café have been reported by both Eater and The Post, with a real estate source describing the luxury fashion brand's expansion as "all but a done deal." Lure Fishbar, which occupies roughly 5,000 square feet, compared to Prada's 20,000, is considered a casualty in the retailer's aggressive U.S. surge. 

Amidst the clamor of commerce, there's a poignant narrative of local versus global, with Mitchell Moss, an NYU professor, stating, "Lure is more than a restaurant. In an interview with The Post, Moss argued that the longevity and local roots of Lure Fishbar provide a counterbalance to the global cachet of Prada, suggesting that the two establishments coexist symbiotically in the fabric of Soho.
