Homicide detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a 40-year-old man in the Jeff-Vander-Lou neighborhood. The shooting occurred on the 1800 block of Coleman just before 7:10 p.m. yesterday, when officers found the man in the street with gunshot wounds., as reported by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.
First responders were unable to revive the victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Law enforcement is working quickly to identify and arrest the suspect(s). No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing.
The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is asking those who might have witnessed the event or have any relevant information to contact their Homicide Division directly or leave an anonymous tip with CrimeStoppers.
