As the holiday season ramps up and St. Peters residents finalize their New Year's Eve plans, the City of St. Peters has announced a series of schedule adjustments for various city facilities during the holiday. According to an official statement on the City of St. Peters website, St. Peters City Hall, Cultural Arts Centre, Earth Centre, Recycle City, Municipal Court, and Police Records Division are all set to close on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in observance of New Year's Day.
For those looking to get in a final workout or swim in 2024, the St. Peters Rec-Plex will remain open until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. The fitness facility will also open doors from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on New Year's Day. This offers a limited window for residents to inject a dose of health and wellness before the celebrations commence or to kickstart a resolution in timely fashion.
Waste services will also follow a special holiday schedule. Recycle City will continue trash and yard waste disposal services until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, but its offices will remain closed. Earth Centre, on the other hand, will accept yard waste until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, but there'll be no product sales during this time. It's important for residents to note that solid waste won't be collected curb-side on New Year's Day, and as result, the solid waste pickup schedule in St. Peters will be delay a day for the rest of that week.
Residents planning on utilizing these city services are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid any inconveniences. All details regarding the holiday hours can be found on the City of St. Peters website.
