
A woman, whom officials have yet to confirm as a migrant, was rescued from Mount Cristo Rey on Christmas Eve after suffering a leg injury. The Sunland Park Fire Department reported that they had assisted Border Patrol agents with the incident, which occurred just before 9 a.m. that Tuesday. The injured woman, described to be in her 30s, was then transported to a local hospital by ambulance. according to KTSM.
The rescue operation commenced at around 8:45 a.m., and according to the Fire Department's statement, the woman sustained a "lower extremity injury." Details on how the injury occurred or whether the woman was attempting to cross the border at the time have not been released, as reported by KFOX-TV.
