The City of Surprise and Vitalant Blood Donation are joining forces to offer locals a way to give back this holiday season, with a series of blood drives scheduled for December and January. Those interested in participating can schedule their donation appointment by visiting the Vitalant website and using Blood Drive Code p1T62, as detailed on Surprise's official city news portal. Walk-ins are also gladly accepted, but appointment holders will to be given priority access.
The upcoming blood drive events are set to take place on December 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Surprise Regional Library in the Program Room, and two other drives in January; the first on January 7 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Surprise City Hall in the Community Room, followed by an event on January 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Asante Library. Those looking for more information are encouraged to reach out to Jamie Michler at 623.222.5127.
In a bid to encourage community members to donate, Vitalant is offering special incentives through its Donor Rewards program. Additionally, donors who give blood between January 1 and 12, 2025, can expect to receive a voucher, redeemable online for a single-day ticket to the prestigious 2025 WM Phoenix Open, with electronic tickets available specifically for February 5, 6, or 9.
Vitalant, a local non-profit, ensures that blood donations remain within the community, directly supporting neighbors in need. With an average daily requirement of 5,500 donations to meet patient needs.
