A suspected package thief was apprehended while officers were delivering holiday toys to children at around 11:45 A.M. on Tuesday in South Boston, as reported by the Boston Police Department.
An alert Boston Police Cadet, part of the team from District C-6, spotted Kerri Flynn, a 34-year-old local with a history of larceny, while the officers were in the midst of their charitable distribution of toys across the neighborhood—it was the Cadet's keen observation skills that led to the interception of the alleged culprit before more packages could fall prey to theft. The Cadet noticed Flynn, who had been gaining notoriety in the area for her suspected involvement in a string of package thefts.
The subsequent inquiry not only confirmed Flynn's identity but also uncovered her possession of two bags brimming with unopened packages. Furthermore, a database check turned up several outstanding warrants tied to her name, adding charges of shoplifting and receiving stolen property to her rap sheet.
Flynn's apprehension by the police was swift. She was taken into custody and is slotted to be arraigned in South Boston Court on charges pertaining to Larceny from a Building, as the Boston Police Department conveyed in their official announcement.
