Three teenagers were taken into custody and face charges of aggravated robbery after an incident that resulted in the theft of a vehicle at gunpoint in San Antonio. The San Antonio Police Department responded to a call at roughly 2:15 a.m. on Sunday near the junction of Glendale Avenue and Prosperity Drive on the city's West Side, as reported by KSAT.
As per the preliminary report, three assailants approached three individuals, a 17-year-old female, an 18-year-old male, and a 19-year-old male, forcibly taking the 19-year-old's vehicle. According to MySA, during the incident, the 18-year-old was struck in the head with the firearm, an action commonly referred to as pistol-whipping, and the 17-year-old's purse was stolen, they did not specify whether the purse contained items of significance.
The victim of the pistol-whipping endured non-life-threatening injuries. The officers, upon receiving a description of the stolen vehicle, located and stopped it on the 1200 block of Old Historic Highway 90. The car contained the three suspects, ranging in age from 16 to 17. During their search, officers recovered a stolen firearm inside the vehicle, SAPD noted.
All three suspects were booked for aggravated robbery. The police have been thorough with the case, which remains active and under investigation by the SAPD. More information may surface as the inquiry progresses.
