A 15-year-old boy has been shot in the Peabody neighborhood, prompting an investigation by District 3 Police. The incident, which occurred just shy of 4 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of 13th and Lasalle, led the young victim to a local hospital where he spoke to the police after being privately conveyed.
According to the SLMPD, the teenager reported he was sitting in a vehicle when he suddenly felt a sharp pain on his right side and realized he had been shot. The individuals he was with at the time rushed him to the nearest hospital and departed before the authorities arrived. The victim is currently in a stable condition, recovering from the ordeal.
At this point, the police have not released information pertaining to suspects or a motive for the shooting. There is plea for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
