To enhance the quality of care for North Texans, Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has kicked off a $2 million renovation project targeting its breast center. The initiative is set to refresh mammography rooms, establish new patient-changing areas, and build a peaceful biopsy room. According to the City of Arlington's official website, the renovations also include a redesigned reception area and upgraded waiting spaces for both patients and their families — aiming to be completed within the first quarter of 2025.

The center, pivotal in providing services like screening mammograms, ultrasounds, and radiology, caters to over 9,000 individuals annually, predominantly between the ages of 40 and 80. "We are dedicated to meeting the needs of our patients," said Blake Kretz, FACHE, president of Texas Health Arlington Memorial. "This renovation is part of our continued focus on providing safe, high-quality care and consumer experiences to North Texans." His remarks underscore an ongoing commitment to better service the community's health needs, according to the City of Arlington.

With historical roots firmly planted since 1956, Texas Health Arlington Memorial has grown parallelly with the local population. It joined the Texas Health system in 1997 and now hosts approximately 14,000 hospital stays, 100,000 outpatient visits, and 71,000 emergency department visits yearly. 2023 marked its designation as a Level III Trauma Center, reflecting its capability to provide comprehensive emergency services. In addition, the hospital holds certifications for an advanced Level III Maternal and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit by the Texas Department of State Health Services.
