Trent Dutry steps into Glendale's economic arena as the newly minted Economic Development Deputy Director, a move announced recently by city officials that slots him at the helm of programs critical for the city's cultural and social footprint. Boasting an extensive background in community and project management, Dutry is pegged to lead the teams that are the lifeblood of the city's special events and arts and culture scenes.
As detailed by the City of Glendale’s announcement, Dutry's wide-ranging brief includes directing Glendale Glitters, the popular music festival Live!, and Ballet Under the Stars, he will also have oversight of permits for citywide events an ambitious portfolio that places him squarely at the nexus of citizen engagement and economic redevelopment, particularly focusing on Downtown Development. Glendale City Manager Kevin Phelps lauded Dutry's appointment saying, "Trent is a leader with a proven track record in community engagement and developing high-performing teams."
With a career stretching nearly three decades in the sports and entertainment sector, Dutry's most noted for his tenure with the Phoenix Suns where he captained operations, negotiations, and talent management, his most recent billet had him orchestrating the large-scale enchantment at Enchant Christmas, leading the Phoenix team an event that weaves the festive tapestry of the season through the city, as detailed by the City of Glendale. Dutry, a DeVry Institute alum with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business, carries forward this multifaceted experience to his new role in Glendale.
