The U.S. Marshals have apprehended a fugitive from West Tennessee named Sherrick Vaughn, who was on the run and facing multiple charges including aggravated child abuse and assault. The capture took place in Middle Tennessee, putting an end to a manhunt that began with an alleged violent incident earlier in the year.
According to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service, the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office probed an event on April 16, leading to warrants for Vaughn's arrest. The 35-year-old from Savannah was wanted on three counts of aggravated child abuse. Acting on a tip, the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force in Jackson involved their Middle TN counterparts in the hunt for Vaughn.
With the cooperative efforts of the two Task Forces, Vaughn was located and arrested in Humphreys County, TN, last Wednesday. The arrest was executed without incident, and Vaughn was then transported to Humphreys County Jail. Investigations and subsequent leads by the USMS Two Rivers Violent Fugitive Task Force were crucial in tracking down the suspect's whereabouts.
In addition to the charges in Hardin County, Vaughn faces a plethora of legal troubles across multiple Tennessee counties. He was wanted in Decatur County for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon and in Dickson County for a compendium of charges including aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and false imprisonment.
