
The DeKalb County Police Department has issued a Mattie's Call, an urgent message in the search for elderly citizens who have disappeared and are believed to be in danger, for 84-year-old Shirley Jenkins. Jenkins was reported missing after she was last seen near the 400 block of North Candler Road yesterday at around 3 p.m.; she is described as having poor eyesight and suffering from memory loss and confusion, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
As the search intensifies, DeKalb County police emphasize Jenkins' vulnerability, describing her as a Black woman, 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with brown eyes and brown hair, as reported by WSB-TV. She may appear disoriented due to age-related health issues. Law enforcement is asking the community to stay vigilant and assist in ensuring her safe return. She was last seen wearing gray sweatpants, a gray shirt beneath a black coat, a black hat, and white shoes, which may help the public identify her.
The police have provided additional details of a potential vehicle involved, which is a 2015 gray Toyota Corolla, that Jenkins might be traveling in, as stated by FOX 5 Atlanta.
