The Vacaville Police Department recently reported a swift operation that led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle and the resolution of a liquor theft incident, both connected to a single pair of suspects. As detailed in a social media post by the Vacaville Police Department, the vehicle was located after officers were alerted to its presence near Davis St. and Bella Vista St.
Upon discovering the vehicle parked outside a fast-food joint, Vacaville Police safely detained two Sacramento residents, 30-year-old Montaje Lewis and 46-year-old Desiree Turner. While officers were engaging with the occupants of the purloined car, a local grocery store's call to dispatch reported a significant theft of alcohol. The description of the suspect's vehicle matched the one the officers had just secured, linking the incidents.
Further inquiry by the authorities revealed that Lewis had nonchalantly walked into the grocery store, selected a garbage can, filled it with multiple liquor bottles, and casually walked out. "Investigation showed Mr. Lewis had walked into a local grocery store, selected a garbage can, and then proceeded to place multiple liquor bottles inside and simply walk out of the store," the Vacaville Police Department stated in their social media update. Both suspects were booked at the Solano County Jail, facing charges spanning possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of stolen property, and violation of probation.
