Wade, who is serving his third term on the council, accepted the nomination Tuesday night from outgoing Vice Mayor Amber Liermann, an endorsement signaling collegial support and a seamless transition in the city's leadership. Noted by Maricopa's official website, this is not the first time Wade has taken on this mantle; he previously served in this same capacity for the 2019 calendar year.

Wade expressed enthusiasm for the role, affirming his commitment to civic service, saying, "This opportunity allows me to work even more closely with our council and residents to drive initiatives that make Maricopa a city we’re all proud to call home." His election is a nod to his experience and previous contributions to the council's work.

Liermann, reflecting on her time as Vice Mayor, lauded Wade's dedication to public service, acknowledging the personal and professional growth that comes from such a role. "Representing Maricopa in the role of Vice Mayor locally and regionally has been an honor. I am grateful for the relationships built and experiences that have helped Council achieve our goals. I am humbled to have assisted the Mayor in fulfilling her duties," Liermann said, according to the city's announcement. "Wade is a long-time leader in Maricopa, and his willingness to serve his community so sacrificially is inspiring."

Wade's civic engagement extends far beyond the confines of the city council chambers. A retired Air Force veteran, he recently closed a chapter as Director of Housing Counseling Services at Chicanos Por La Causa, an HUD Approved Housing Counseling Services Agency, offering over a decade of commitment to housing needs.
