As the city grappled with this act of violence, the NOPD reported additional shootings on Canal Street, according to NOLA. As Saturday night unfolded, two men were shot in separate incidents— the first around 7:30 p.m. and the second about an hour later. However, details surrounding these incidents remain scarce. A brief NOPD press release confirmed that the second man, found in the 900 block of Canal Street, had suffered a gunshot wound and was subsequently transported to a hospital.
The work of the police this holiday weekend was relentless, as they responded to multiple shooting incidents across New Orleans. The deadly nature of some of these encounters was confirmed by FOX 8 Live, which reported two fatalities in the West Lake Forest area and two additional injuries in separate incidents. The deceased were found in the 6700 block of Tara Lane, while another shooting victim was located earlier in the 500 block of Canal Street.
