A repetitive and disturbing incident has landed a man in jail after he exposed himself in a public space, not for the first time, but reportedly for the second in almost as many years. According to a press release from the City of West Palm Beach, 36-year-old Abraham Castro has been arrested and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior on a child under 16, exposure of sex organs, and failure to appear from an arrest in 2023.

Last seen almost a year ago in a similar scenario, Castro, this time, approached a woman and her 11-year-old daughter requesting they take his picture. Upon obliging, they were confronted with the sight of Castro’s exposed genitalia, as per the information given by the City of West Palm Beach. Always donned in all black and a black baseball cap, the suspect seemed almost to be wearing a uniform of deviance when an officer spotted him from the Entertainment District Unit on Banyan Boulevard on Wednesday.

The quick retrieval of video evidence by the department's Strategic Intelligence Center paired with the circulation of a law enforcement bulletin, was paramount in Castro’s subsequent identification and arrest. After his rights were made known to him, Castro admitted to the crime during an interview at police headquarters and now is being held without bail for his failure to appear in court for his prior offense. Homeland Security Investigations has further complicated his situation with a detainer, pending the resolution of his West Palm Beach case, after which he will be charged with illegal reentry.

Authorities are concerned there might be more victims. Anyone with information or who may have been a victim of Abraham Castro's actions is encouraged to contact Detective Ryan Brust at (561) 822-1621. In addition, anonymous tips can be reported through Crime Stoppers of Palm Beach County, at (800) 458-TIPS (8477).
