A woman was shot and killed at a residence on Creeldale Drive in Gwinnett County over the weekend. According to FOX 5 Atlanta, the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to the shooting around 7:05 p.m. and found a woman in her 30s dead from a gunshot wound. Investigators faced a language barrier as they interviewed multiple Spanish-speaking witnesses.
The Gwinnett County Homicide Unit is investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made. The victim's identity has not been released, and an interpreter was used for a 911 call, as reported by 11Alive.
Lt. Michele Pihera of the Gwinnett County Police gave insights into the ongoing proceedings. Pihera stated that multiple witnesses were present in the home when the fatal gunfire occurred. As detectives continued interviewing witnesses, Pihera highlighted that the language barrier was slowing down the investigation. While authorities have indicated that the shooting may be domestic-related, no suspect has been identified.
As part of their search for answers, Gwinnett Police are examining surveillance footage and doorbell camera recordings with hopes of identifying a suspect. The case remains open as the police continue their investigation.
