
A tragic series of events unfolded Tuesday night in Magna, Utah, leading to the death of a woman following a multi-vehicle accident. As reported by ABC4, around 9:10 p.m., a vehicle caused a crash involving three other vehicles at the intersection of SR-201 and 8000 West.
The driver of the vehicle that initiated the collision proceeded to quickly leave the vehicle and flee on foot. It was later confirmed by the Utah Highway Patrol that a woman was fatally struck in this incident. Traffic was expected to be impacted until midnight, with no anticipated disruption for westbound commuters, as mentioned by a Utah Highway Patrol spokesperson, as obtained by KUTV.
Further into the investigation, as per KSL, more disturbing details explained that the suspect, identified by authorities as Hamilton, was involved in a prior altercation. "(Hamilton) admitted to firing a handgun at his brother after a physical altercation and then fled the scene, making multiple attempts to avoid apprehension. Additionally, (he) was involved in a fatal accident and left the scene on foot," the arrest report described. The sequence of these violent events culminated in the loss of a pregnant woman, age 34.
The local law enforcement's response to apprehend the fleeing suspect was swift, culminating in custody following the deadly incident.
