
A 20-year-old woman was injured in an early morning shooting on today in St. Louis Place, according to a report from the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. The incident took place in the 1500 block of N. 13th St., where the victim was reportedly in a car with three friends when shots were suddenly fired at them from occupants of a dark-colored vehicle. The assailants then quickly fled the scene.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, was struck by a bullet on the side of her face and was subsequently transported to a local hospital. She is currently listed in stable condition. The other individuals in the car at the time of the shooting were unharmed. Police have yet to arrest any suspects in connection with the violent act, which seems to have been all too sudden and random, leaving the neighborhood to only begin to process its trauma and fear.
Investigators from District 4 are actively working on the case, seeking leads that might help them understand the motive behind the shooting and ideally to track down those responsible. The department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
