
A construction site at VAI Resort in Glendale was the scene of a fatality, where a worker reportedly fell from a significant height. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, the incident occurred during the early morning hours of Monday. The Glendale Police did not provide details on the incident but confirmed it was not criminal. The worker fell about six stories, and emergency crews were unable to prevent the outcome.
The resort, set to open in late 2025 next to State Farm Stadium, has faced multiple construction delays. Following the accident, Fisher Sand & Gravel Co. expressed their sorrow, stating, "We are deeply saddened by the tragic incident involving a trade partner’s employee that occurred earlier today on the construction site located at Route 101 and Cardinals Way. Our deepest condolences go out to the family, friends, and colleagues of the individual involved. At this time, we cannot comment further until we receive the results of the investigation which is in-progress," as reported by abc15.
The Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH) has confirmed an ongoing investigation into the accident.
