A young man was robbed at gunpoint of his car keys in the 3700 block of Chippewa earlier yesterday, the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department reports. The 22-year-old victim believed he was going to meet a woman with whom he had been in communication on social media, as per police statements. Instead, he was confronted by an unknown masked man wielding a gun.
The encounter took place around 12:45 a.m. when the victim received directions to meet the supposed woman. Upon arriving at the destination, he was swiftly met by the assailant. The suspect immediately announced a robbery and demanded the victim's property. The 22-year-old complied, quickly handing over his car keys before running to safety and alerting authorities. No physical injuries have been reported following the incident.
