A 14-year-old girl was taken into custody in San Antonio following the fatal stabbing of her stepfather, local law enforcement officials report. The incident occurred on the East Side of the city in the 300 block of Stutts Drive. As reported by KSAT, police officers responded to the scene around 6:20 p.m. on Monday and found the victim with multiple stab wounds to the neck and face.
The teenager's stepfather was pronounced dead on site. The San Antonio Police Department shared that after an investigation, the young girl was charged with crimes related to family violence, KENS 5 reported. Subsequent to the stabbing, multiple witnesses were detained, however their statements or involvement have not yet been made clear.
EMS personnel and officers who arrived at the property attempted lifesaving measures to no avail. According to the reports from both KSAT and KENS 5,, the girl was discovered inside another house on the property and initially cooperated with officers before being detained. The San Antonio Police Department has not released further details about the motive or circumstances leading to the altercation.
