The Boston Police Department reports that a 15-year-old male has been apprehended in connection to a recent shooting in Dorchester. The incident in question, involving an adult male victim with multiple gunshot wounds, occurred on December 23, 2024, prompting an urgent police response. On Tuesday, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force and District B-3 (Mattapan) made an arrest on Cummings Highway of the juvenile suspect on a warrant issued by Suffolk County Juvenile Court.
According to the Boston Police Department's official statement, the arrest warrant included charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Dwelling, Armed Robbery, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. The young individual is slated to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court, where he will face the ramifications of his alleged actions.
Bringing some clarity to the aforementioned incident, it was initially reported that officers responded to Wilbert Road at around 12:18 AM, following a person shot. The wounded victim, an adult male, was later located on Blue Hill Avenue after fleeing the scene in his vehicle. Authorities provided immediate assistance and transported the victim to a local hospital, where he received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries.
Further investigative efforts by officers in the vicinity of the crime scene led to the discovery of ballistic evidence.
